Non-convective shower activity approaching and moving through the region resulted in a period of strong sustained winds and gusts at many observing sites. Some observations included 66 mph at the Beach mesonet site, 58 mph recorded by the Salt Lake City International Airport ASOS, and 58 mph at the GARFL2 mesonet site.

Wider weather episode

An active pattern resulted in strong wind gusts in addition to isolated flash flooding to start the month of September.
