Event narrative

The public reported golf ball size hail in the southern end of the Bighorn Mountain Range.

Wider weather episode

A shortwave moved across Wyoming. As it encountered more humid air east of the Bighorn Range, severe thunderstorms developed in Johnson and Natrona Counties. There were numerous reports of hail from nickel to golf ball size hail, including on Interstate 25 which slowed traffic for a time. In portions of Fremont and Sweetwater Counties, strong winds mixed to the surface and brought local high wind.
