Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds blew down between 10 and 15 trees in Lexington. A church and three homes were also damaged by the winds. One of the homes is no longer habitable.

Wider weather episode

A line of storms from the Midwest continued east into the Mid-Atlantic within a very unstable atmosphere conducive for damaging winds. Numerous downed trees and powerlines occurred in southwest Virginia from this line of storms.
