Remnants of thunderstorms in Tennessee moved into North Georgia in the early afternoon hours of the 3rd. Meanwhile, daytime heating across Central Georgia helped to destabilize the moist airmass in place. Thunderstorms began to redevelop into a Mesoscale Convective Complex (MCS) developing severe winds across a broad area.
