The Mesonet station BURL1 measured a thunderstorm wind gust of 41 MPH or 36 kts.
Wider weather episode
A remnant outflow boundary made its way over southern Mississippi during the morning. Once daytime heating increased, convection formed along that boundary. The convection formed a line and surged out across southeast Louisiana, coastal Mississippi, and the marine waters before dying out at sunset.
