A weak shortwave trough moving through the Ohio Valley coincided with peak diurnal heating, ample atmospheric moisture, minor shear, and moderate downdraft potential. Scattered thunderstorms developed across Northwest Georgia and the Atlanta Metro, causing wind damage.
