A weak area of low pressure was traveling across the eastern Great Lakes during the early morning hours of July 16th. There was enough marginal instability that showers in the eastern Great Lakes developed into a few strong thunderstorms as they moved north-northeast across Lake Ontario and eastern Ontario province in Canada toward the St. Lawrence Valley of NY. One rogue thunderstorm produced some marginal wind damage in the form of downed trees and branches in the Waddington-Madrid area.
