Mesonet site at State Boat Channel in Captree State Park in NY measured a 34 knot wind gust.

A lingering upper level trough lingered over the northeast CONUS. At the surface, a slow moving cold front moved through western NY and western PA, while a pre-frontal trough developed ahead of it. The pre-frontal trough became the focus for convection and a broken line of severe thunderstorms moved over the waters.
