The upper level ridge maintained the heat wave episode over south Texas through mid July. Dangerous heat conditions persisted across the Coastal Bend into the Brush Country from the 13th through the 17th with heat index values ranging from 110 to 120 degrees, with values above 120 degrees over the inland Coastal Bend on the 16th.
