Severe drought (D3) continued across the county to start July but improved to moderate drought (D2) across central and the southeast portions of the county.

Wider weather episode

Exceptional drought (D4) and severe drought (D3) continued across much of the region during the July. There was some beneficial rain in South Central Kansas which allowed several counties to improve significantly to where no drought conditions existed or improved to moderate drought (D2) by the end of the month.
