A report from the public and broadcast media indicated that a funnel cloud was observed from PFC Santos Cruz Aviles in Salinas.

Wider weather episode

A humid air mass was filtering into the local islands from the east. This area of inclement weather resulted in an increase in frequency of showers and thunderstorms. Under an unstable atmosphere, additional convective development was observed in the south of Puerto Rico in the afternoon hours. One of these storms generated a funnel cloud.
