A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 60 mph knocked a tree down onto wires on Lafayette Avenue in Lewis Run.

Wider weather episode

Two lines of thunderstorms pushed from the Great Lakes and Ohio into western Pennsylvania from the late evening hours of August 24 into the early morning hours of August 25, 2023. These storms produced sporadic wind damage across the western highlands of Pennsylvania before weakening as they continued southeastward into a more stable environment.
