Thunderstorm winds caused widespread damage across Mexico and Vandiver. Several trees were blown down as well a power lines and numerous tree limbs.

The wider storm

A severe mesoscale convective system (MCS) moved through the forecast area during the afternoon hours producing widespread 60-70mph winds and associated damage. The complex moved to the southeast taking advantage of 3500-4500 J/kg of surface-based CAPE.
