Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds blew down numerous trees, tree limbs and power lines in Wellsville and Buell. One tree was blown down onto Highway 19 in Wellsville.

Wider weather episode

A severe mesoscale convective system (MCS) moved through the forecast area during the afternoon hours producing widespread 60-70mph winds and associated damage. The complex moved to the southeast taking advantage of 3500-4500 J/kg of surface-based CAPE.
