Hail accumulation of 1 inch in the area resulted in two accidents on I-25.

Wider weather episode

Severe storms developed over portions of eastern NM. One strong storm dropped nickel sized hail in Colfax County in the afternoon. Later in the evening, two severe storms produced strong wind gusts at the Tucumcari and Roswell airport observing sites.
