Nickel to quarter size hail accumulated to about 3 inches deep in some parts downtown Las Vegas, NM. There was minor flooding that resulted in town.

A large scale weather system interacted with an unstable and moist airmass to produce severe storms over parts of eastern NM. Accumulating hail and minor flooding were observed in Las Vegas, along with a severe thunderstorm wind gust at Tucumcari.
