Several stations in the mesonet reported heat indices values of at least 108F, surpassing 112F some days, for over two hours. These conditions met the local criteria for heat advisories and excessive heat warnings.
Wider weather episode
Excessive heat conditions have not stopped in the month of September. Heat indices reached 108F or more almost each day. These observations are widespread along the Mesonet, covering most of the urban and coastal areas. The only zones that did not experience heat indices above 108F are the central interior and western interior due to elevation.
