The ASOS station at the airport, as well as the station in Cotton Valley frequently reported values that exceed the criteria of 108F or even 112F, for at least two hours, each day of the month.

Wider weather episode

The official stations along St. Thomas and St. Croix, as well as additional weather stations across these islands indicated heat indices above 108, or even 112 degrees in some days for at least a two hours period. These values met the criteria for Excessive Heat Warning across the Virgin Islands.
