A very subtle surface trough axis moved generally eastward over western Lake Erie and vicinity during the evening of July 14th as a high pressure ridge exited eastward. Isolated clusters of multicell showers and thunderstorms associated with low-level convergence along the surface trough axis moved east-southeastward over western Lake Erie and northwest OH. A couple of gale-force peak convective wind gusts accompanied these cells along the northwest OH shore as the showers and storms encountered moderate MUCAPE and strong effective bulk shear.
