Hail was mostly dime-sized but a few hailstones were quarter-sized.
Wider weather episode
A weak cold front pushing southeast out of southern Manitoba and far western Ontario led to a few isolated thunderstorms across the Minnesota Borderlands during the afternoon of the 8th. Most of the storms remained below severe limits but a few were able to produce quarter-sized hail and some minor tree damage as they moved through.
