Wind gust was measured on a personal weather station in the Croatan Sound.

Widespread strong to severe thunderstorms impacted the inland rivers, sounds and coastal waters across eastern North Carolina during the afternoon and evening of July 9th. These thunderstorms brought damaging winds as well as waterspouts to the area.
