The Candler County Sheriff's Office reported trees and power lines down in several locations, including on Macwac Lake Road, Holland Road and Freedom Lane.

Thunderstorms across the Deep South were forced eastward by a shortwave across southeast Georgia during late afternoon and early evening hours, encountering a very unstable airmass marked by high levels of mixed-layer CAPE, strong low-level lapse rates, strong 0-6 km bulk shear and inverted v soundings displaying high levels of downdraft CAPE. As a result, several thunderstorms became severe, producing damaging winds and small hail across southeast Georgia.
