The Screven County 911 Call Center reported a tree brought down power poles near the intersection of Effingham Highway and Highway 301.

The combination of warm and moist conditions occurring ahead of a cold front approaching from the west along with forcing associated with a sea breeze circulation shifting inland led to strong thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds across southeast Georgia.
