Numerous social media reports of power outages around the Atlanta Airport. MARTA rail service was suspended as a result in the area.

Wider weather episode

A shortwave disturbance moved out of Alabama and into North and Central Georgia along a nearly stationary frontal boundary. Overperforming instability and minor shear allowed thunderstorms to become strong to severe, particularly in the Atlanta Metro.
