Showers with embedded thunderstorms developed across central and southern New Mexico ahead of an upper-level low pressure system over northern Mexico. Outflow winds ahead of this activity produced a strong wind gust of 58 mph at the Stallion Runway mesonet on the White Sands Missile Range grounds.
