An Ambient Weather Sensor in far southeast Pondera County (A U Bishop) measured a 65 mph gust.
Wider weather episode
A potent mid level low tracked eastward near the Canadian border during October 16. The combination of strong westerly flow aloft and a surface low in SK producing a strong pressure gradient resulted in high winds across much of North-central Montana as well as portions of Central Montana.
