A tropical wave moved slowly westward over the Florida Keys and Straits of Florida. East of the wave axis, numerous showers and thunderstorms developed, producing several rounds of outflow-enhanced gale-force wind gusts over the Florida Keys coastal waters from the evening of August 19th through the early morning hours of August 21st.
