This gust blew part of the roof off of a house 2 miles WSW of Twentynine Palms.

Eastern Pacific Hurricane Hilary made landfall on the Baja Peninsula early on the morning of the 20th and reached Southern California as a tropical storm that afternoon. The cyclone brought widespread flash flooding to southeast California, along with isolated high winds.
