Event narrative
Several stations of the Fort Greely mesonet on the north side of Isabel Pass recorded high winds. The Texas Condo mesonet station recorded gusts as high as 79 mph. Strong winds gradually ramped up on the morning of the 26th, before peaking in darning the evening. The winds slowly diminished the night of the 26th as the low moved away.
Wider weather episode
A strong area of low pressure move from southwest to northeast across northern Alaska on August 26th. This caused very strong winds to develop in the Alaska Range.
