Event narrative

Ongoing drought conditions continued across the far southwestern corner of Western Roosevelt County which remained in D2-Severe, while the rest of the county remained in D1-Moderate. At the end of October, the southeastern three quarters of Western Roosevelt improved to D0-Abnormally Dry, while the western border and northwestern quarter of the county improved to D1-Moderate.

Wider weather episode

Record snowfall and below normal temperatures during the last one third of October,

allowed drought conditions to improve across several locations in northeast Montana.
