Severe (D2) drought conditions, persisted over central portions of Blaine County through the end of September. The cooperative observer at Purdum reported 1.67 inches of precipitation for September.
Wider weather episode
Drought conditions continued to improve across western and north central Nebraska in September. By the end of the month severe (D2) drought conditions were only present in a small area in the central Sandhills, as well as portions of eastern Holt and southeastern Custer County.
