Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds blew a tree down onto a bridge that crosses Bear Creek, about 4 miles south southwest of High Hill. About 4 miles northeast of Jonesburg, a tree fell onto an occupied car causing moderate injuries to the occupant.

Wider weather episode

A severe mesoscale convective system (MCS) moved through the forecast area during the afternoon hours producing widespread 60-70mph winds and associated damage. The complex moved to the southeast taking advantage of 3500-4500 J/kg of surface-based CAPE.
