Thunderstorm winds blew down numerous trees and power lines along a stretch of Highway 47 between Warrenton and the Warren/Lincoln County line south of Hawk Point.

The wider storm

A severe mesoscale convective system (MCS) moved through the forecast area during the afternoon hours producing widespread 60-70mph winds and associated damage. The complex moved to the southeast taking advantage of 3500-4500 J/kg of surface-based CAPE.
