Event narrative

Widespread tree and power line damage between Hawk Point and Troy. Several trees were blown down along Highway 47 south of Hawk Point. In Troy, a 4 to 5 foot diameter tree fell onto a residence near the intersection of West Cherry and 4th Street. The residence sustained major damage. No injuries were reported.

Wider weather episode

A severe mesoscale convective system (MCS) moved through the forecast area during the afternoon hours producing widespread 60-70mph winds and associated damage. The complex moved to the southeast taking advantage of 3500-4500 J/kg of surface-based CAPE.
