Wind gust was measured on a home weather station.

Scattered thunderstorms developed along a stationary front which was located over the central Sandhills, around 1 PM CDT on September 9th. This activity quickly became severe and tracked to the southeast into Custer County. Additional thunderstorm activity developed over Logan County and northern Lincoln County and tracked south into eastern Hayes and Frontier Counties through the early evening hours. Several hail reports, up to two inches in diameter and wind gusts up to 70 MPH occurred.
