All areas of exceptional drought (D4) improved to extreme drought (D3) across the county for the month of October.

Wider weather episode

Much of South Central and Southeast Kansas improved significantly during the month of October. However, there still remain large areas of the region that remain in severe drought (D2) extreme drought (D3).
