The far western areas of the county improved to moderate drought (D1) during the month of October. All other areas improved to abnormally dry (D0).

Wider weather episode

Much of South Central and Southeast Kansas improved significantly during the month of October. However, there still remain large areas of the region that remain in severe drought (D2) extreme drought (D3).
