The northern areas of the county improved to severe drought (D2) with the remaining areas of the county improving to moderate drought (D1) or abnormally dry (D0).

Wider weather episode

Much of South Central and Southeast Kansas improved significantly during the month of October. However, there still remain large areas of the region that remain in severe drought (D2) extreme drought (D3).
