Event narrative

Widespread damage in the eastern half of Randolph County. Numerous trees, tree limbs and power lines were blown down in Houston, Sparta and Coulterville. In Steeleville, a couple of power poles were blown down.

Wider weather episode

A severe MCS moved through the forecast area during the afternoon hours producing widespread 60-70mph winds and associated damage. The complex moved to the southeast taking advantage of 3500-4500 J/kg of surface-based CAPE.
