Broadcast media relayed a video of a waterspout off the coast of Boca Raton as a thunderstorm passed through the area.

The wider storm

A frontal boundary situated over northern Florida brought a warm and very moist airmass over South Florida, which combined with ample lift from mid-level troughing to develop scattered showers and thunderstorms over the area during the afternoon and evening.
