Event narrative
Up to seven inches of rain fell in a short amount of time causing flash flooding. Numerous roads across the northeastern portions of Osage County were flooded including Highway 100 near Frankenstein. Baileys Creek was well out of it's banks about 6 miles south southwest of Morrison near County Road 271.
Wider weather episode
A swath of strong to severe storms with very heavy rainfall rates moved southeast across portions of northern and central Missouri during the early morning hours of August 2nd. There were several reports of flash flooding.
