Hot temperatures 10 to 12 degrees above normal caused the Moderate Heat Risk category to be reached on the Tohono O'odham Nation where temperatures topped out around 102 degrees. The Pima County Medical Examiner determined heat to be the primary cause of death for two individuals found in the desert southwest in the Sells and San Miguel areas.
