A 60-mph wind gust was measured at the Mountain Springs Grade Station.

A strong low-pressure system moved across the west coast of the United States. This resulted in a tightening of the pressure gradient and thus strong westerly winds materialized across western portions of Imperial County, where isolated gusts in excess of 60 mph were observed during the evening hours.
