Rain finally moved across Beauregard Parish early in the month helping to contain the Tiger Island Wildfire. The fire burned 31,290 acres and numerous structures during August with no significant growth or burned structures in September.

The historic heat wave of 2023 continued through the first week of September with triple digit temperatures across portions of the state, most notably across Central Louisiana.
