Event narrative

A tree with large branches fell on a school bus on Agor Lane in Mahopac with 25 childeren and a driver inside. No injuries. Power company and highway department arrived on scene shortly after.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms developed along a stalled boundary and moved through southeast NY in an environment with 3000 to 4000 J/kg of SBCAPE. Some of these storms were severe and produced damaging winds and large hail.
