SNOW SQUALL. Visibility dropped to a third of a mile at an RWIS sensor on I-80 during a snow squall in the early afternoon of November 28, 2023. A drop in road surface temperature was observed from 35F before the squall to 29F after the squall moved over the area. Road webcams showed the road becoming snow covered during the squall.

Wider weather episode

A broken west-east band of snow showers and squalls dropped southward across central Pennsylvania during the late morning and early afternoon hours of November 28, 2023. This band briefly dropped visibilities below half a mile and dropped road surface temperatures below freezing, leading to flash freeze concerns.
