Scattered trees were blown down south of Ethel, including a few down across County Road 5053.

A disturbance in northwest flow aloft triggered a round of severe thunderstorms as it interacted with a hot and unstable air mass over southeast Arkansas and northern Mississippi. These thunderstorms produced some wind damage and hail as they moved across northern and central Mississippi.
