An area of low pressure that was moving slowly east across northern California into the Great Basin late September into the early October brought increased shower and thunderstorm chances to northeast California, the Sierra Front and eastern Sierra to include parts of western Nevada. This included high elevation snow showers over parts of the Sierra.
