Event narrative

Severe (D2) drought conditions, over central portions of Blaine County, improved to abnormally dry (D0) conditions by the end of October. The cooperative observer at Purdum reported 3.49 inches of precipitation for October.

Wider weather episode

Drought conditions improved significantly over the central and eastern Sandhills in October. Heavy rain fell on October 11th and 12th over the Sandhills into portions of north central Nebraska. By the end of October, moderate (D1) drought conditions were present over eastern Chase County with the remainder of western and north central Nebraska experiencing no drought conditions.
