What the National Weather Service wrote

Severe (D2) drought conditions across far northern Logan County, improved to abnormally dry (D0) conditions by the end of October. The cooperative observer at Stapleton 5W reported 1.04 inches of precipitation for the October. This was 0.77 inches below the normal of 1.81 inches.

The wider storm

Drought conditions improved significantly over the central and eastern Sandhills in October. Heavy rain fell on October 11th and 12th over the Sandhills into portions of north central Nebraska. By the end of October, moderate (D1) drought conditions were present over eastern Chase County with the remainder of western and north central Nebraska experiencing no drought conditions.
